Start your own St. Patrick's Day tradition, attend the first-ever Blarney Ball on March 14th, 2009
(Granville, Ohio) Join the Central Ohio Irish Club as they start a new St. Patrick's Day tradition – the Blarney Ball. Enjoy a more formal approach to this Irish "holiday" during an evening filled with cocktails, dinner, dancing and a live performance by the Setanta Irish Dance Company.
The Blarney Ball will be held Saturday, March 14 at the Granville Inn, 314 Broadway E. in the heart of Granville. The Ball will begin at 6:30 p.m. with cocktails, followed by dinner at 7:30 p.m. Guests are asked to don formal attire, meaning suits for the gents and dresses for the ladies…top hat and tails not required. During dinner, Ball-goers will be treated to Irish music performed by a harpist.
Beginning at 9 p.m., guests will enjoy an exclusive performance by the Setanta Irish Dance Company. The troupe features the most experienced and dynamic dancers from Scoil Rince Ni Chiara, or the Ni Chiara School of Irish Dance, located on River Road in Granville. Setanta performances include traditional Irish Step Dancing, along with modern choreographies incorporating Irish Dance.
Setanta has given numerous high-energy performances with world-renowned Irish bands such as Gaelic Storm and The Makem Brothers, in addition to local Ohio favorites: The Kells, Homeland and Aisling. The dancers have also performed at a variety of corporate functions, civic and community events, homes, and many festivals, including the Newark Potato Festival and the popular Dublin Irish Festival.
Irish music and dancing for everyone will follow the Setanta performance, with a special “Guinness Toast” to top off the evening.
Tickets for the Blarney Ball are $75 each. To purchase tickets, please contact Frank Vento at 740-877-0590 or by email. Tickets can also be purchased at Ace Express (226 Broadway in Granville) or at the Granville Inn.
